Public Benefit Organisation

Stichting Koopvaardijpersoneel 1940-1945 has been designated by the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration as a Public Benefit Organisation (Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling (ANBI)). This means we are not required to pay tax on our (periodic and incidental) donations, gifts and bequests. Donors can also benefit from tax advantages.
Registration

The Dutch Tax and Customs Administration sets requirements for organizations that wish to be an ANBI. Organizations that meet these requirements are granted ANBI status. This is attractive to donors because donations to an ANBI can yield tax benefits. This applies to both individual donations through the gift deduction and periodic donations. An ANBI itself does not pay inheritance or gift tax.

What are the conditions for ANBI status?

As an ANBI, Stichting Koopvaardijpersoneel 1940-1945, in addition to contributing to the public benefit, must meet several conditions. For example, we must be non-profit and make our contact details, financial information, policy plan, and current activities publicly available. So that everyone can have insight into the functioning of our foundation.

What is the advantage of ANBI status?

ANBI status brings tax benefits and is therefore attractive for donors. Donations and gifts may, under certain conditions, be deducted from income or corporate tax.
